FD&D Claims Handler

The Company runs two successful brands “The Charterers P&I Club” and “Transmarine” and has an international client base. Recent years have seen a dynamic growth in the number of clients based in Asia and the Company is now looking to create a dedicated servicing operation to be based in the Asian region. As the cornerstone of this strategy the Company is looking to recruit an experienced FD&D claims handler to work in Hong Kong in order to provide a regional claims handling service for the Charterers P&I Club clients in Hong Kong and China.

The ideal candidate will be a lawyer with a sound working knowledge of charterers FD&D work, gained within either a law firm or a P&I club; preference will be given to candidates that are also capable of being the main point of client contact for P&I related matters. The successful candidate will be comfortable working remotely and independently as a ‘specialised’ regional arm of the claims team in London and reporting directly to the claims Director. The role will involve a degree of autonomy in order to allow claims authority to be vested regionally and will require somebody that is capable of assuming a high degree of responsibility for the quality of service provided to the Company’s Asian clients.

Successful applicants will have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and possess good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel; the ability to use PowerPoint and Access is preferred.
