The Club was started in 1986 as the first P&I vehicle
exclusively for charterers. The Club enjoys an excellent reputation as a
market leader in this specialist field. The genesis of the Club arose out
of charterers concerns that their interests in the traditional owner’s
clubs were secondary to those shipowner members. The professional and
dedicated team at the Charterers P&I Club sees things purely from the
